STEFAN STRUMBEL - THE NEW TIMES
3D-Motion graphics for the big screen
Through a collaboration with Berlin and Paris based creative director Sebastian Zimmerhackl i had the opportunity to work with Baden Württemberg Artist Stefan Strumbel for the vernissage of his New York Exhibition “The New Times”, creating a video-takeover of the biggest advertising screen in the world - The New York Times tower on Times Square.
Utilizing advanced photoscanning techniques and open source 3d-software Blender I digitized a sample of his series of bronze-cast cuckoo-clocks and created a 3d-animated video around it incorporating multiple other artworks of his and transforming the bronze-cast to further express the message behind his creations based on his needs and instructions.
One of my favourite projects so far, it has been a tremendous joy to be abled to work with such creative and personally amazing people as i had the opportunity here. We managed to create a tremendous amount of creative synergy that greatly helped the process of creating such a specialized video asset through both 3d and after-effects motion pipelines.
